    萨伊德的痕迹 - [每日记]

    打开hotmail信箱,忽然发现有些改变,我可以看到以前存下的一些信都放在一个地方,85封。都存了什么?
    打开一看,是一些2000年前后两年觉得重要的信,包括刚与经观合作时,在纽约与樊纲、Noam Chomsky和萨伊德等一些学者的通信。
    与萨伊德的通信往来了几次,最后一封是2002年3月16日来的。
    当时,经济观察报即便在中国也没几个人知道,几个雄心勃勃的年轻人说想采访他,他居然也非常友好地接受了。日期变更了几次,最后跟他定下来,但是在采访前再联系他的秘书时,秘书回信说他身体极度不适,采访取消了。
    萨伊德于次年去世。
     
    如果是在古代,这应该是手写的一封信。在未来,也许Email也会有文物价值。
    虽然我现在主要用Gmail了,但依然感激hotmail在互联网普及初期给我们打开的门。
