Suddenly my whole body was glowing. It was like having thousands of tiny fish released all at once into the bloodstream, and I could feel them course right through all my limbs. My hands were literally trembling as I put the phone back in my pocket. My friend came up out of the stairwell, and we walked together to the corner where she got into a taxi. You know that feeling where the person in front of you has so little idea of what is going on inside your mind that you start to feel giddy. I watched the taxi pull away and stood there thinking, 'Well this is funny. I didn't quite expect this. But yes, ok, yes. I guess in truth I did.
